The RISE Network’s Story

Objectives of the RISE Network

1. Develop a new ethic of university-community (internal and external) interactions based on deep understanding, mutual respect and reciprocity.

2. Change the paradigm of university interventions in pre and post disaster interventions from a expert based, asymmetrical power based, unilateral actions to an extended peer community engagement based on humility and the just co production and sharing of knowledge

3. A new architecture of relationships that can lower the levels of ignorance and managing the uncertainties related to pre and post disaster environments

4. To serve as a meso-net of university “radars” that leaves no blind spots in enhancing the resilience of all, from the individual to the global.
